Which tournaments were best at bringing in new players who stayed? Every ranked tournament (FFA, 1v1 and Team) is judged by its debutants — players whose first-ever ranked tournament it was — and what they did afterwards: entered another tournament, kept chatting on Discord, or both (retained). Recomputed live from the tournament records and the bot's Discord activity log.

About this data

  • Only ranked tournaments count — a player's "debut" here may not be their first community event, and coming back to unranked events is invisible to this page.
  • Discord activity is tracked since 11 Nov 2020 (history still being backfilled), only on the servers the Friends of Risk bot is a member of. Tournament players who never post there count as not chatting.
  • Of the 9,036 tracked debutants, 822 (9%) were already chatting on Discord more than 90 days before their first tournament ended — regulars converting to tournaments rather than newcomers.
  • "Around 90d+" needs the tournament to be at least 90 days old; younger tournaments show "soon".
  • Players are matched by Discord id between the tournament results and the activity log. The debut of a player entering several formats on the same closing date is attributed to one tournament (FFA first).
