There are two different ways to get started. Both versions offer exactly the same functionality. Eventmanager™ only works for FFA-style events, no team support.
Step 1-A: Your own Discord server
- Make sure that riskbot is on the server where you want to set up an event
- Make sure that riskbot has permissions to: create/read messages, create/manage threads, manage members, create/manage roles
- Run the /create-event command and input the desired event name
- Optional: Move the newly created event channel to the correct category within the server
Step 1-B: Main server Eventlabs
- Apply for the @eventlabs-host role to get proper permissions
- Run the /eventlabs-create command and input the desired event name
Step 2: Set up the event as you like
All of this can be changed even after the event starts
- Follow the link sent to you by riskbot to open Eventmanager™
- Click on the Admin-button to switch to event staff dashboard
- Click on the Edit event-button to set up details about the event
- Add the link to your rules/information document if you have one
- Add the event to the Friends of Risk event calendar if you like to by clicking the Add it-button on the right
- Add a brief description of the event that players will see when visiting the event front page
- Select if check-in system should be used (Requires every player to check in between 20 and 10 minutes before gametime. If they fail, they will be removed from the group and get no-show role)
- Select if we should auto-ping waitlist and no-shows on game start time if the group is not full
- Select if scores should be visible for participants, only staff or not at all (can be changed at any time)
- Add or remove your admins and staff (Admins can to everything, staff can only report scores and handle swaps)
