New vs returning chatters

How loyal is each year's crowd? New chatters posted their first recorded message that year; returners on their 2nd year in a row were also active the year before, and the 3rd+ year in a row group in both of the two years before. Comebacks after a gap year appear in the table only. While the message history is still being backfilled, the earliest tracked year counts everyone as new.

About this data

Message history goes back to 11 Nov 2020; the bot is still backfilling older history, so early periods may grow as more channels are processed.
Counted per day by the Friends of Risk Discord bot, on the servers it is a member of. Only text messages count — no voice, reactions or bot messages.
Days follow UTC; the current day is excluded until it is complete. Numbers are recomputed every night.
Users are matched to site profiles by Discord id; chatters who never registered on friendsofrisk.com are listed as unregistered.
